Front-runner for the Presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi held a meeting yesterday, January 20, 2026; with the Patriotic Citizens Forum and ADC representatives from 19 Northern States.
The attendees included Haishatu Jaafar Bashir (Women Affairs Director), Prof. Kirfi Musa (Professor of Economics and senior representative of the ADC, Bauchi State), Prof. Umar Yusufari (ADC gubernatorial aspirant, Yobe State), Alhaji Ado Adamu Rossi (former youth leader, Kano State), and Hajia Sa’adatu Maishinko (ADC Kano State).
He also had a private meeting with the ADC Gubernatorial Aspirant for Yobe State, Prof. Umar Lawan Yusufari, and his delegation to discuss strategic collaboration efforts.
He also met with the Patriotic Citizens Forum and ADC leadership across several States.
He assured all the various groups and various State chapters represented at the meetings, of his support across their various States and their peculiarities.
At the end of the meetings, the unanimous conclusion reached was that a free and fair election is the least expected of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the country prepares to go to the polls in the build up to the 2027 general elections.
The ADC leaders were unanimous in their call on INEC to ensure a free and fair election. They also promised to resist every rigging attempt by the ruling APC.
