Former Governor of Rivers State and Presidential hopeful, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi on Friday hosted members of the United Opposition led by Alhaji Hayatu.
While speaking with the group drawn from various parts of the country, the Presidential aspirant on the platform of ADC commended them for their resolve to join in rescuing Nigeria from “the bad governance of the current administration”.
He assured that when he becomes President of Nigeria, he will give fifty percent of his cabinet to youths and women.
He cited his time as Governor of Rivers between 2007 and 2015, emphasizing how he ran a youthful cabinet in Rivers State and how he plans to do the same at the Federal level upon assumption of office as President.
He further highlighted that as Governor of Rivers State, he led a cabinet where he was the eldest at age 42. He clarified that with the exception of Magnus Abe, who was in his age bracket, the majority of his team were young professionals in their 30s.
Drawing from his record in Rivers State, he concluded: “This means that if I win, the youth will have the opportunity to serve as members of the Federal Cabinet.”
