2027: ‘I’m not in any political coalition’ – Senator Abba Moro declares
The Senator representing Benue South
Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro, has firmly distanced himself from any form of political coalition, stating unequivocally that he remains loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party (PD) and is not aligned with any individual or group pursuing a different political alliance.
Moro made this declaration on Saturday during a constituency briefing and interactive meeting held in Otukpo, as part of activities marking his six years of service in the Senate.
“Let me state here unequivocally that I am not in any political coalition and not a member of any political coalition with anyone or group,” Moro stated before a crowd of supporters, party leaders, and traditional rulers.
The senator emphasized that those claiming to be in political coalitions were doing so on personal grounds and not on behalf of the
PDP. He reminded the gathering that the only political coalition he would consider supporting would be one initiated by the PDP, which he described as the largest political party outside of power.
“In the recent past, I addressed the press on behalf of and with my colleague senators where we clearly stated that we were not in the political coalition being propagated by individuals,” Moro said. “This position has not changed.”
The event, which brought together
stakeholders from across Zone C – including
APC and PDP members — also featured a detailed presentation of the senator’s legislative scorecard. Moro noted that his commitment to service is rooted in transparency, not self-glorification, saying, “l stand to present my scorecard to you, not for validation or praise, but because it is your right to know.”
Participants at the interactive session, including members of the Benue State House of Assembly, traditional rulers, student groups, and youth associations, applauded the senator for his clarity, honesty, and continuous engagement with the people.
The Och’Idoma, HRM Pastor (Dr) John Odugbo, represented by Ad’Otukpo Chief Samuel Onuh, lauded Moro for his humility and focus, urging him not to be distracted by political noise.
Moro reassured his constituents that he remains focused on delivering quality representation and facilitating impactful projects across Benue South, regardless of political or ethnic affiliation.
“Benue South is not where we want it to be yet, but we are not where we were yesterday,” he added.
