Nigeria have booked a place in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after a commanding 4–0 victory over Mozambique on Monday night.
The win marks a historic milestone for the Super Eagles, as it is the first time they have won their opening four matches at the AFCON tournament.
Eric Chelle’s side finished top of Group C with a perfect record, once again underlining their dominance over the Mambas in Fez.
Ademola Lookman opened the scoring before turning provider, setting up Victor Osimhen to double Nigeria’s advantage before halftime. Osimhen completed his brace shortly after the restart, once again benefiting from Lookman’s creativity.
The rout was completed when Akor Adams fired home a powerful strike from inside the penalty area to make it 4–0.
Nigeria will now face the winner of the quarter-final clash between Burkina Faso and DR Congo as they continue their quest for continental glory.
