Agbor — Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Governing Board, Mr. Chiedu Ebie, has pledged to roll out more interventionist projects across the Niger Delta in the coming year.
Ebie made the pledge on Sunday, January 4, during a birthday celebration organised in his honour by aides, friends, and political associates at his country home in Agbor, Delta State.
Expressing gratitude to attendees, the NDDC chairman said the Commission would intensify efforts aimed at sustainable development and community resilience in 2026.
“What we have achieved so far is only a preview. The Commission will roll out more projects targeted at improving livelihoods across the Niger Delta,” Ebie said, while extending New Year goodwill to residents of the region.
The event drew traditional leaders from Ika nation, APC chieftains, and members of the Delta Unity Group (DUG), among other stakeholders. Speakers at the gathering praised Ebie’s leadership style, describing him as inclusive and results-driven, and credited him with promoting infrastructure development and human capital growth in Ika nation and beyond.
Mr. Emeka Ogbe, Personal Assistant on Special Duties to the NDDC chairman, said the celebration was organised to appreciate “an astute leader and a unifying figure who has continued to place development and harmony above politics.”
The event featured entertainment, photo sessions, and goodwill messages, and ended on a note of optimism for the year ahead.
