On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, widows from Ika Land and beyond gathered at the Ekwuoma residence of the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Political Matters, Chief Kingsley Udoka Okoro, as he distributed food items to the widows in commemoration of the New Year.
The heart-warming outreach, which took place in Ekwuoma, was witnessed by leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 7 and was ably coordinated by the Master of Ceremony, Comrade Isioma Mathias.
Speaking during the event, Chief Udoka expressed deep gratitude to God for the gift of life and the privilege to once again give back to widows in the society
“When I was younger, I prayed that God should bless me so that I would be able to support widows and the less privileged. Today, God has answered that prayer, and I have been doing this for sixteen years now,” he said.
He explained that the annual empowerment programme is borne out of compassion rather than politics, emphasizing that his motivation is rooted in love and humanity.
“This initiative is not politically motivated. It is simply my contribution to the welfare of widows. It gives me great joy to support them, and by God’s grace, we will continue to sustain this programme every year,” he added.
Chief Udoka also used the occasion to encourage the people of Delta State to remain hopeful as the New Year approaches, assuring them that the policies of the APC will continue to transform lives.
“I urge our people to be hopeful as we enter 2026. APC policies are changing lives in Delta State, and I encourage everyone to support the Renewed Hope for More Agenda,” he said.
The widows, in turn, expressed heartfelt appreciations to Chief Udoka for his consistent show of kindness and for remembering them at such a significant time of the year. The event ended on a joyous note, filled with prayers, gratitude, and renewed hope for the future.
