The Super Eagles of Nigeria have booked a semi-final clash with host nation Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after a commanding 2–0 victory over Algeria on Friday night.
Nigeria outclassed the Les Fennec in a one-sided quarter-final encounter, ending Algeria’s impressive run of four matches without conceding a goal and eight goals scored in the tournament.
Victor Osimhen opened the scoring in the 47th minute before Akor Adams doubled the lead 10 minutes later. Frustration boiled over in the Algerian camp after the goals, with tempers flaring as the match slipped beyond their control.
The win sets up a blockbuster semi-final showdown between the Super Eagles and the Atlas Lions of Morocco.
