It is not a doubt that former Governor Yahaya Bello is the most popular person not only in Kogi Central but from Kogi Central.
If I tell anybody outside of Kogi Central that I am from Kogi Central, the first thing the person likely says next is “Yahaya Bello people”, and my response is usually a proud “Yes”.
The fact is, His Excellency former Governor Yahaya Bello has succeeded in putting Kogi State on the map for good, in the process he has drawn recognition to Kogi Central Senatorial zone.
I do tell people that Yahaya Bello brought unity to Ebiraland, and that is the fact.
Till Yahaya Bello, it was difficult to bring all Ebira people under one umbrella because of clan issues and a whole lot of issues, but since Yahaya Bello came into Kogi State politics in 2015, till date, Ebiraland and Kogi Central has become one.
In fact, in Ebiraland and consequently, in Kogi Central, Yahaya Bello is like a political party on his own. He is a unity figure.
This is not to say there are no efforts to tarnish his good image but then again, the true test of gold is fire.
There have been some effort by some persons to use the EFCC to attempt tarnishing his good image but how the people of Kogi State across the 21 Local Government Areas stood by him was yet a message nobody ever imagined till it became clear that Yahaya Bello is loved indeed by all Kogi State people.
With Yahaya Bello in the Senate, Kogi Central will finally have a voice that speaks their language, the language of their everyday life as Yahaya Bello is a true son of the soil who is at home with every one person in Kogi Central.
With Yahaya Bello, federal attention will finally arrive Kogi Central as Yahaya Bello is a true voice of the people of Kogi Central. Each time he speaks, he is speaking the minds of the people.
Kogi Central has suffered a lot of setback in federal representation since November 2023. With Yahaya Bello, Kogi Central will be able to catch up with the rest Senatorial zones in terms of federal attention.
Yahaya Bello is the people of Kogi Central, the people of Kogi Central are Yahaya Bello. Yahaya Bello is a like a political party in Kogi Central. He is loved by all and every single person in Kogi Central. He is a hero and a path finder and unity figure and a leader who makes way for everyone else to become great. He invests in people and he ensures that everyone who stands by him don’t fall by the way side. As he rises, everyone who stand with him, he ensures they rise along with him at any cost.
He is indeed, the man of the people and Kogi Central is blessed to have him.
