A pressure group, Ika Youths Progressive Forum, has applauded the Chairman, Governing Board, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Chiedu Ebie Esq, for his developmental strides which cut across all the states in the oil -rich region. The group, during its enlarged meeting on Saturday, January 24, poured encomiums on the NDDC Chairman who they described as a result-oriented leader.
The Co-ordinator of the group, Comrade Ebie Clement, in his address during the enlarged meeting which was held in Agbor, the headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, declared that they were fully in support of Chiedu Ebie, noting that they were proud to be loyalists and followers of the NDDC Chairman.
His words,”Our great Principal and Chairman, Governing Board, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Chiedu Ebie Esq, is a result- oriented leader, a leader par excellence and a blessing to humanity. The story of the Niger Delta region has become better since Ebie assumed office as Chairman, NDDC board. All communities in the Niger Delta are testifying to the great works NDDC is doing. For instance, in Ika Federal Constituency, NDDC has beautified every road, community and public place with solar lights. The NDDC has also embarked on massive road construction works in different parts of Ika Land. The achievements of NDDC in Ika also include: youths empowerment, building and rehabilitation of classroom blocs, ICT Centres, ongoing plan for the building of pavilions in Agbor, Abavo and Umunede, provision of medical materials, 500KVA generator and well equipped ambulance to the Central Hospital, Agbor, compensation of Agbor fire victims with millions of naira, payments of monthly stipends for Ika youths, the installations of 20 units of transformers to different communities in Ika Land while 30 transformers are awaiting installations.
The group appreciated Ebie for his support for its members and pledged absolute loyalty to him.
A key supporter of Ebie who represented him at the meeting and member of Delta Unity Group, DUG, Evang. Paul Ebede, in his remark at the meeting, said that he was quite happy that such a formidable group was following Ebie, stressing that the NDDC Chairman ” is out to better Ika Land.”
He urged them to remain committed in their support for Ebie as he is strongly prepared to better their lives.
Ebede urged the youths to work hard and diligently for their benefits. “Define your vision and build on it. You have so much to benefit when you serve well in politics.Establish something that will benefit you more than politics,” Ebede added.
He added, “Ebie is a light, he deserves our followership, let us remain loyal to him., We are beneficiaries of his goodness, it shall be well with Ebie for he is good and a man of his people”.
Also speaking, a grassroot politician, Hon Isaac Ulebor, said, “You people have done a great job. Your meeting today is a very impressive one. We are not here for a joke. Chiedu Ebie is out to bring good things to Ika Nation.This is your time, use it well”.
In his vote of thanks on behalf of the group, Hon Sunday Iyeke expressed gratitude to God for the success of the meeting
He commended everyone present at the meeting particularly, Evang Paul Ebede and Hon Isaac Ulebor, whose presence, he said, had added value. He declared that the group would not relent in her resolve to be loyal and supportive of Ebie’s political leadership.
