The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reportedly arrested a former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh, in Kaduna State.
Multiple sources confirmed that Jamoh was taken into custody by operatives of the anti-corruption agency on Monday. However, the ICPC has not disclosed the specific allegations prompting his arrest.
Jamoh served as Director-General of NIMASA from 2020 to 2023, during which he oversaw the nation’s maritime safety and regulatory agency.
As of the time of filing this report, the ICPC has yet to issue an official statement confirming the arrest or indicating whether formal charges will be filed.
