The Delta State Ministry of Justice has inaugurated a Civil Service Unit dedicated to handling all cases involving the Delta State Government and its agencies before the National Industrial Court, as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s capacity in labour and industrial relations litigation.
The unit is made up of Oghenemine Stephen Onoriose, Esq.; Mrs. Elvon Edirin Ezie; Ugochukwu Paul Okolotu, Esq.; Funkekeme Junior Solomon, Esq.; and Oghenechavwuko Agbatutu, Esq.
Speaking during the inauguration, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, said the initiative was designed to enhance the state’s legal capability in managing labour disputes, particularly employer-employee matters and other labour-related litigations involving government institutions.
He charged members of the unit to demonstrate diligence, professionalism, and dedication in their duties, stressing the need for them to be well-versed in National Industrial Court laws and to operate strictly within legal provisions.
Responding on behalf of the team, the Head of the Civil Service Unit, Mrs. Elvon Edirin Ezie, thanked the Attorney-General for the confidence reposed in the members and assured that the unit would effectively discharge its mandate in the best interest of the state.
