Frontline Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi, has claimed that the Federal Government of Nigeria was aware of the identities and locations of terrorists operating in the country.
Speaking about his controversial meetings with armed groups, the cleric explained that he does not negotiate with them alone. According to him, he usually attends such meetings accompanied by members of the police, the military, and other security agencies.
“The FG knows every terrorist by name and location. I do not go alone to negotiate with the terrorists. I go with police, military, and other security agencies,” Gumi said.
He explained that his involvement in the meetings was part of wider efforts aimed at dialogue and resolving the security challenges affecting several communities.
