Former Senate President and National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark has decorated two police officers attached to his security detail following their promotion to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
The officers, Supol Sunday Obekpa and Supol Francis Iduma, were decorated during a brief but colourful ceremony at Mark’s residence in Apo, Abuja, attended by party officials, family members of the officers and close associates.
Mark performed the decoration alongside his wife, Helen Onma Mark, and praised the officers for their years of loyalty, discipline and professionalism in service.
He noted that both officers had worked with him since his days in the Senate, describing their promotion as a fitting recognition of their dedication and commitment to duty.
According to him, the officers had distinguished themselves through unwavering loyalty, diligence and a strong sense of responsibility, qualities he said are increasingly rare.
“Your promotion is not only well deserved but also a recognition of years of hard work, discipline and professionalism,” Mark said, urging them to see their new rank as a call to even greater responsibility.
He encouraged the newly promoted officers to continue to uphold the values of integrity, discipline and selfless service in the discharge of their duties.
Speaking on behalf of the staff, former senator and Chief of Staff to the ADC National Chairman, Suleiman Adokwe, congratulated the officers on their elevation, describing them as disciplined and dependable personnel who had consistently demonstrated commitment in the course of their service.
Adokwe said their promotion was well deserved and urged them to sustain the high standards that had earned them recognition.
The ceremony ended with goodwill messages from guests, as Mrs Mark hosted the celebrants and attendees to a reception.
