The Guild of Interfaith Media Practitioners Nigeria (GIMP-Nigeria) has felicitated with Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, urging religious leaders to promote unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
In a statement issued in Abuja by the Secretary of its Governing Board, Barrister Samuel Egburonu, the Guild described Eid as a time for reflection, renewal, and reaffirmation of shared values such as compassion, discipline, and generosity.
Egburonu emphasized the vital role of faith leaders in fostering harmony, calling on Muslim clerics, Christian leaders, and traditional rulers to use their influence to bridge divides and strengthen national cohesion.
He also warned against religious intolerance, hate speech, and misinformation, urging media practitioners to uphold responsible reporting that supports interfaith dialogue and national stability.
GIMP-Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to advancing interfaith engagement through media advocacy and called on government and civil society to support initiatives that promote religious harmony.
The Guild wished all Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous Eid celebration.
