Youths from Idah, Igalamela-Odolu, Ibaji, and Ofu Federal Constituency have called on creative professional and public affairs advocate, Tarick Ameh, to contest for the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections, citing his experience and strong connection with grassroots communities.
Supporters note that Ameh’s work with the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) has exposed him to legislative processes and governance, giving him the knowledge required to effectively represent the constituency at the National Assembly.
They also point to his years in the media space, where he has used his platform to highlight youth challenges, community issues, and development concerns, as evidence of his commitment to public service and advocacy.
His academic background in Geography and Environmental Management positions him well to understand and address the environmental challenges affecting his constituency, including flooding, erosion, and the deforestation of farmlands.
According to youth leaders, Ameh who hails from Idah local government area of Kogi State understands the struggles of young people and has consistently supported initiatives aimed at empowering youths and promoting the cultural and socio-economic development of the Igala people.
While he has not officially declared his intention to run, many youths believe his leadership style, experience, and accessibility make him a strong candidate capable of delivering effective representation for the constituency.
