The steel industry is a critical pillar for Nigeria’s economic growth and industrial advancement. Some of the steel industries in Nigeria haven’t been functioning for over 3 decades now, from one government to the next…the story remains the same…
But today, we express our profound appreciation for the leadership of Hon. Minister Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, whose efforts have reignited hope in this vital sector. Before he assumed office, the industry faced numerous legal battles and litigations that significantly undermined investor confidence, deterring foreign investment and stalling progress.
However, the arrival of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has marked a transformative turning point. His administration’s proactive approach has successfully unlocked these litigations, paving the way for a revitalized steel industry in Nigeria. This renewal has sent a strong signal to both local and international investors: Nigeria is ready and open for business.
In a few months, we anticipate seeing concrete achievements that will reflect the government’s commitment to boosting the steel sector. A prime example of this is the facelift of investment activation of the Ajaokuta Steel Company and the recent announcement by Inner Galaxy Group, which is set to invest an impressive $400 million
in a state of the art hot-rolled coil steel factory in Ewekoro, Ogun State. This facility, expected to begin operations by April 2026, is a testament to the renewed confidence in Nigeria’s steel industry.
Under the current administration, significant steps have been taken to strengthen the workforce in this sector. Over 200 technicians have been employed into the National Steel Council, laying the groundwork for a robust steel industry that can support diverse economic activities and generate employment opportunities across the nation.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for his unwavering support and vision for Nigeria’s industrial development. We also commend Hon. Minister Shuaibu Abubakar Audu for his dedication to the cause and for standing firm in promoting Nigeria’s steel industry.
As we look ahead to the 2027 elections, let us rally in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term. Together, we can ensure that the progress made continues, steering Nigeria toward an industrial future filled with promise and prosperity.
Join Us in Celebrating Progress and Future Prospects.
With optimism and commitment, let us work hand in hand to transform Nigeria into a global leader in the steel industry. The best is yet to come!
Nigeria steel sector must work……
