Bauchi State Governor , Senator Abdulkadir Bala Mohammed said the only way out of the current democratic logjam created by the present administration is to ensure a multi party system , so as to relieve Nigerians of civilian autocratic governance.
Kauran Bauchi stated this on Thursday in Abuja during the National Executive Council, NEC meeting of his new party, Allied People’s Movement APM in Abuja.
He said he choose the APM as the next political platform that will guarantee not only the sustenance of Nigeria’s democracy, but ensure a level playing ground for ordinary Nigerians.
The Bauchi State Governor expressed regrets on the prevailing situations in the country, were the ruling party is gradually turning the country to a one party state .
According to him, “I was the Chairman, People’s Democratic Party, PDP Governors forum with 13 governors , but today , the reverse is the case , with only Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state remaining,even though , he is on transit.”
“In the history of Nigeria, we have not seen such political calamity like it is in the present dispensation, as I have high hope that Nigerians will stand up and defend democracy.”
“For us, the APM is the best platform for us and Nigerians whose intentions is to allow democracy to thrive and not the other way round. ”
“We are mobilizing in mass both in Bauchi State, North East to ensure the party gets victory in the next year general elections in 2027.”
“APM is devoid or any form of infiltration, interference of any sort from any angle , therefore we have chosen wisely .”
Earlier, the Chairman of the Allied People’s Movement, APM, Alhaji Yusuf Maman Dantalle said the APM welcome all Nigerians who intend to use the platform genuinely to achieve their political goals .
Dantalle who is also the chairman , Inter Party Advisory Council , IPAC in Nigeria maintained that the beauty of democracy is a multi party participation and free choice for the electorates.
He congratulated Senator Bala Mohammed for his bold steps, saying that the zeal to rescue democracy is a collective decision.
