Details have emerged how Mr. Emmanuel Osazuwa from Ebudo Quarters, Ozanogogo in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer for the Ika Federal Constituency for the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Osazuwa secured victory at the APC primary election after polling a total of 29,373 votes to defeat six other aspirants who contested for the party’s ticket.
Among the contestants was Hon. Festus Chukwuyem Okoh, Deputy Majority Leader and member representing Ika South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, who garnered 55 votes.
Also in the race was Dr. Donald Peterson, Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Entrepreneurship Development, who polled 355 votes.
A former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Martins Okonta, scored 124 votes, while Mr. Lucky Ehiwuogun Monye secured 61 votes.
Mrs. Amaka Egboro, the only female aspirant in the contest and a contender from Ika North-East Local Government Area, polled 24 votes.
Declaring the results at the APC Secretariat in Agbor, the party’s Returning Officer and Delta State Commissioner for Water Resources, Dr. Isaac Tosan Wilikie, announced that Emmanuel Osazuwa, having scored the highest number of votes, had been duly elected as the APC flag bearer for the Ika Federal Constituency in the 2027 National Assembly elections.
Speaking shortly after his emergence, Osazuwa expressed gratitude to party delegates and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, promising to provide quality representation and unite the people of Ika Federal Constituency.
He pledged to work towards youth empowerment, infrastructure development, improved education, and better economic opportunities for his constituents if elected into the House of Representatives in 2027.
