Former Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr. Mike Omeri, has been officially affirmed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State as the consensus candidate for the Nasarawa South Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general election.
The affirmation exercise took place at the PDP Nasarawa South Zonal Office in Lafia and witnessed the presence of the PDP Zonal Chairman, representatives of the State Executive Committee, party chairmen from Lafia, Awe, Keana, Obi, and Doma Local Government Areas, alongside electoral officials from Abuja and Nasarawa State.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from Abuja and the Nasarawa State office were also present to observe and witness the affirmation process.
Also in attendance were PDP House of Assembly candidates from Doma and Lafia Central, party stakeholders, and supporters who came out in solidarity to support and accompany the incoming distinguished senator during the affirmation of his candidacy for the Nasarawa South Senate seat in 2027.
Reacting to the affirmation exercise, Dr. Omeri expressed sincere appreciation to party officials, members of the state and local government executive committees, elders, stakeholders, and party faithful for the confidence and trust reposed in him.
“This affirmation is not just a personal milestone; it is a collective victory for our party, our constituency, and our shared vision for a better Nasarawa South. Our people truly deserve purposeful and effective representation — one that will address insecurity, empower our youths and women, attract development, and ensure our district has a strong voice in the National Assembly,” he said.
