Hon. Rowland Odih, a former Atiku/Obi 2019 Presidential campaign aide has on Sunday, strongly criticized former Anambra State Governor, PDP 2019 Vice Presidential candidate and Labour Party 2023 Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his recent criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to a media statement signed and made available to the press by the media office of the Bridge for Renewed Hope, Hon. Rowland described Peter Obi’s comments against President Tinubu as “product of an empty-headed and politically displaced man”.
Citing a recent Federal High Court judgement that deregistered Peter Obi’s current political party, NDC; the former Atiku Youth Wing Director-General advised Peter Obi to rather channel his energy towards strengthening his own political platform, NDC, rather than attempting to distract President Tinubu, who is focused on delivering good governance to Nigerians.
“I was one of those who packaged Peter Obi for national politics back in 2018. I know his political strengths and limitations. His recent attacks on President Tinubu only expose the fact that he has no constructive alternative to offer Nigerians, at least for this 2027, assuming without conceding that Peter Obi has any guaranteed political party to run for 2027 politics,” the Director-General of The Bridge for Renewed Hope said.
He urged Peter Obi to concentrate on ensuring that his Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is properly registered and positioned for political participation ahead of 2031, instead of making what he described as baseless attacks on the President who is going to win re-election, come 2027.
“Peter Obi should focus on getting his NDC of today properly registered ahead of 2031, and stop attempting to distract President Tinubu from the enormous task of rebuilding Nigeria. President Tinubu remains committed to implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda, and Nigerians are already witnessing the impact of his reforms and cannot wait to re-elect him as President, come 2027,” Hon. Rowland said.
Hon. Rowland further stated that President Tinubu deserves support and cooperation from all well-meaning Nigerians rather than what he described as “unnecessary political grandstanding by empty-headed opposition politicians like Peter Obi.”
He called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in supporting President Tinubu’s administration and to continue backing the Renewed Hope Agenda. He re-stated confidence that the President Tinubu administration’s policies will continue to deliver lasting economic growth, improved security, and national prosperity.
