A senior finance operative of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) and 46 other terrorists and their family members have surrendered to troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Borno State.
The Theatre Command said the senior operative, who reportedly managed ISWAP’s finances and logistics at the group’s Jubillaram enclave, surrendered on July 25 along the Ladari–Jegarawa–Tunokalia axis of the Gamboru–Wulgo route.
He surrendered with two male children. Troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, four magazines, 101 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a motorcycle and ₦40,000 in cash.
The military said the suspect is undergoing profiling and interrogation to obtain intelligence that will support ongoing counterterrorism operations in the North East.
