There was excitement in Ekwueze-Abavo Town Ika South Local Government Area on Monday as the community adopted Hon. Cordilia Anyangwu as her sole candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), Ika South Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform for the 2027 general elections.
Addressing the people, Hon. Anyangwu promised to deliver a grassroots-oriented legislative mandate if elected to the Delta State House of Assembly.
She applauded the community leadership for adopting her as her House of Assembly standard bearer while thanking them for also agreeing to vote for their son and brother , Dr Ifeanyi Okowa , Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Emmanuel Osazuwa and President Ahmed Bola Tinubu overwhelmingly in the upcoming national polls .
Hon. Anyangwu said that the goodwill of Ekwueze will not be taken for granted, and urged them to preach the Renewed Hope Message to the family and friends.
Speaking at the gathering, a gubernatorial aide and indigene of Abavo, Chief Isioma Okonta vowed that Ward 10 would maintain 5/5 victory for the APC in the forthcoming general elections.

It is in our culture. We have not lost any election in ward 10″.
He insisted that Hon. Anyangwu emerged because she is the most qualified person from Abavo and not because of her gender.
“Hon. Cordilia Anyangwu emerged because she is the best qualified person from Abavo and not because of her gender. Ward 10 will deliver APC 5/5 in the general elections,” Okonta added.
Similarly, the Vice Chairman of Ika South, Hon. Mrs. Glory Amamosa-Onyeagbor posited that APC candidates should be compensated with massive votes because the party had favoured the ward with massive infrastructural development.
“Our National Leader, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, CON, is from Ward 10, his imprints are visible. My mother, Hon. Cordilia Anyangwu, gave jobs to thousands of our sons and daughters in different government agencies. I urge us to vote massively for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Hon. Emmanuel Osazuwa and Hon. Cordilia Anyangwu – APC 5/5,” she said.
In his remarks, Prophet Joseph Onyinye urged Ekwueze-Abavo community to mobilize massively for the victory of Hon. Anyangwu, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Hon. Emmanuel Osazuwa and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Also speaking, the representative of the eldest man of the community, Mr. Friday Amadi affirmed that Ekwueze-Abavo community would mobilize and vote for Hon. Cordilia Anyangwu and all APC candidates.
” We have adopted our great daughter, Hon. Cordilia Anyangwu, as Sole House of Assembly candidate. If you choose , somebody else will follow. We are not fools. APC 5//5 is what we will do. ”
He thanked Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for their great infrastructural and human capital development strides in the area.
