Edo Police Command Nab Two Robbery, Kidnap Suspects
Operatives of Edo State Police Command have arrested two suspects for alleged kidnapping and robbery.
The suspects were identified as Samuel Matthew and Maxwell Mathew, both from Abraka in Delta State.
In a statement, the Edo Police Public Relations Officer, CSO Moses Joel Yamu alleged that the arrest followed a distress call regarding the activities of “some suspects at a hotel within the responsibility of the Oba Market Police Division’s area in Benin City.”
The police spokesperson pointed out that, acting on intelligence, the operatives raided the hotel and arrested the two suspects.
The statement added that a Mercedes Benz GLC 300 with a Delta State Registration number ASB 884 AS, two face masks, one locally made shotgun and two live cartridges were allegedly recovered from the suspects.
“During preliminary investigation, the two suspects confessed to have robbed one Patrick Omoregie of the said vehicle, an iPhone 16plus, crypto currency of value yet unknown, and N150, 000 cash.
“To reiterate the Police’s collaboration with neighbouring commands in the fight against crime, the suspects would be handed over to the Delta State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution,” the statement added.
