Being prudent, well cultured, distance from polemic issues and adhering strictly to the rule of law in the country are some of the attributes of Senator Abdul Ningi that have earned him daring popularity, acceptance and genuine relationship with the good people of Bauchi State.
His cognate experiences as a legislator, an administrator and community developer over the years stand tall with vibrant relationship with the grassroots in his State and beyond.
He has been in the saddle for decades as a staunch and committed party man since the emergence of democracy in 1999. The impact of Sen. Ningi’s selfless service to humanity is top-notch which has transformed destinies, communities, and societies.
The hospitable Senator has a norm for putting the needs of others above his, thereby creating ripple effects of kindness and compassion that spread far and wide. Ningi’s gestures reminded us that our lives have meanings and values beyond our individual goals and pursuits.
The Senator representing Bauchi Central has continued to show an increased and formidable commitment to his constituents and absolute dedication to legislative performance. His commitment to move the legislature forward on a sustainable course of improvement is remarkable and attention grabbing.
Unarguably, I conclude that Sen. Abdul Ahmed Ningi is my Person of the Year 2024.
Cogitating on Senator Ningi’s achievements both in his private and public life, his consistent proven track records remain unbeaten. Ningi as a founding member of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has restricted himself to the full activities of the party for better or worse for over two decades and without spending a night at a hired opposition apartment; sticking to his ideology of God gives power to whom He wants and at the time He wishes.
His consistent sterling performance in his administrative career, admirable self-carriage and effective representation in the National Assembly has earned him many prestigious national and international honours, awards and accolades among which are the Officer of the Order of the Niger, (OON) and the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), as well as many other leadership laurels.
Sen. Ningi bagged the Arewa Inspirational leadership Award from the Hope Arewa Development Initiative (HADI) for his constructive and pre-eminently positive attitude towards legislation and humanity.
The humorous Senator is a champion for liberal ideals. From his antecedent as three time member in the lower house, marked by impressive deliberations on the floor, piloting numerous committees then, and now prolific, purposeful, matured and focused on the general proficiency in his debates at the red chamber.
Indeed Ningi’s high potential personality is a world of possibilities waiting to find vent and be channelled towards some virile strategy and position for Bauchi State and the nation in general.
He has touched lives through initiation of several constituency projects undertaken to address the specific needs and concerns of the constituents. Many of these projects were designed to empower communities, promote socio- economic development, and improve the overall well-being and quality of life for the citizens.
In the legacy showroom, he has in stock, construction of boreholes, renovation and construction of modern classrooms for students in both primary, secondary and Tertiary Institutions across the Senatorial District, several empowerment programmes, scholarship and financial assistance to the downtrodden, and hundreds of outreach activities on security, health , agriculture, religion and cultural development.
Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi was one time, the Deputy Senate Leader. He holds the traditional title of ‘Walin Ningi’ in the historic Ningi Emirate Council. He was the Majority Leader in the House of Representatives, and headed the Solid Minerals and Police Affairs committees in the lower chamber.
A versatile and well grounded parliamentarian who ranks as one of the oldest members in the National Assembly with cognate experience, Senator Ningi has seen it all since 1999 when Nigeria transited to democratic governance.
He will always be remembered for his outspoken attributes. A fearless strategist per excellence.
The disciplinarian Senator believes in the principle of following the footsteps of heroes of democracy, heroes who lived an exemplary and impactful lifestyles. He cherishes embracing the values of compassion, empathy, kindness and opportunities to serve others in order to make positive impacts on communities and make the world a better place for all.
As my Man of the Year 2024, Ningi has demonstrated unwavering dedication to his goals, navigating through complex challenges seamlessly.
His strategic thinking and innovative approach have yielded impressive results, earning him widespread recognition and respect among other legislators and executive arms of governments.
I will admit that, with these pedigrees and accomplishments, Senator Ningi is fit, qualified and capable to seek for the office of the executive governor of Bauchi State come 2027 general election.
He vowed to place high premium on the development of the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises MSMEs in the state, to create thousands of jobs in the state through youth empowerment, eradication of poverty and revitalising agriculture as well as rekindling hope for the hopeless citizens in the state.
According to him, “We will also revitalise agriculture which is our mainstay, we would make Bauchi State financially autonomous and independent. The state will no longer depend on monthly Federal Allocation to pay salaries, and execute projects. We shall lay emphasis on security, protection of lives and properties.
Our mission and vision will be published at the right time this is just a synopsis, but above all we will be there to serve the people of Bauchi State Insha Allah.” Sen. Ningi assured.
I personally dedicate this piece to appreciate a Distinguished Nigerian, Sen. Abdul Ahmed Ningi CON. I celebrate the selfless services and positive impact he has made and is making to humanity, I honour Ningi as a hero who makes a difference in the lives of others every day and I recognize that selflessness is not just a virtue, but a powerful force that can transform our world.
