Bendel Insurance to resume June 22 for 2025/26 Football season
…as Chief Ogiefa led Supporters’ club restates commitment to club
As Bendel Insurance Football Club announced Sunday,June 22,2025 as their resumption date for the 2025/26 season preparations in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), the Supporters’club, led by Chief Osadolor Ogiefa, has restated their commitment, promising to remain faithful to the club come rain or shine.
Chief Ogiefa made the pledge during a combined meeting involving the supporters club and the technical crew members of the Benin Arsenals, as the insurers are also known, in Benin.
Chief Ogiefa said that Bendel Insurance supporters under his watch remained committed to the progress of their darling club and that they were proud of their darling club.
” We are happy to have the members of our technical crew with us this afternoon. We want to again, commend Coach Greg Ikhenoba led technical crew for their resilience and commitment throughout last season. Nobody gave us the chance at all,but you people really made us proud by fighting back from relegation zone to top five. It was a remarkable feat and we will have to build on that and get better in the coming season.”
” We the supporters want to appeal to you on team work and spontaneous cooperation and as well to carefully recruit players that are disciplined and ready to serve the interest of the club. We all know that with the right set of players irrespective of where they come from to fill the gap for us,we are capable of making podium finish next season. The Edo State Government is committed, management is ready;we are all ready. So,the responsibility is on the players to make us succeed. Therefore,we need only disciplined and committed players to wear our jersey”, he advised.
Speaking during the meeting, the Head Coach, Greg Ikhenoba, expressed deep appreciation of his technical Crew, assuring the supporters and Edo people that his team would work tirelessly to bring laurels home next season .
He described the Bendel Insurance supporters club as the best in the country. ” Words are not enough to express my appreciation, particularly for having faith in me. The mantle of leadership fell on me at a very difficult time and you all supported me and the team. Thank God we were able to turn things around to the extent that we were even among the contenders for CAF Continental ticket. We still want to appeal to you not to relent; we shall all celebrate together in the subsequent seasons.” He said.
Bendel Insurance, in a circular released by the secretary Charles Ihimekpen, directed their players and officials to resume on Sunday, June 22,2025.
According to the circular, the first training session is scheduled for Monday, June 23 beginning from 8:00 AM.
Players and officials of Bendel Insurance FC proceeded on a month-long holiday immediately after the end of the 2024/25 football season on May 25,2025.
Meanwhile the management of NPFL has announced that the 2025/2026 NPFL season would kick off on August 22nd, 2025.#
