Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command, attached to the State Intelligence Department, have apprehended two individuals in connection with the theft of a 100Ah Mikano generator battery from a church in Yola.
The suspects, identified as 20-year-old Dad Yusuf and 7-year-old Gibson Husseini, both residents of Upper Luggere in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area, were arrested on June 28, 2025.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the police spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, the suspects confessed to stealing the generator battery from the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria Cathedral, Jimeta, on the night of June 23, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m.
Nguroje stated, “Investigation is ongoing to identify more accomplices and recover more stolen items.”
The police confirmed that the suspects will be formally charged to court upon the completion of the investigation.
