The Lagos State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has on Saturday disassociated from a case filed at a Federal High Court by some persons against the party.
The State chapter in a statement during the weekend said it “wishes to categorically dissociate itself from the suit currently pending before the Federal High Court, Abuja, purportedly filed on behalf of all State Chairmen and State Executive Committees of the party.”
For the avoidance of doubt, the State chapter excos in a statement by their State chairman, Gbenga Asiru, said; “The Lagos State Chapter was not consulted prior to the filing of the suit.
“No authorization was given to any individual or group to act on our behalf.
“The action represents the personal position of the named plaintiffs and does not reflect the stance of ADC Lagos State.”
“We reaffirm our commitment to: Internal democracy, Rule of law, Stability and unity within the party,” ADC Lagos said.
“While we respect the right of individuals to seek judicial interpretation, we emphasize that such actions must not be misrepresented as collective decisions.
“ADC Lagos State remains focused on strengthening the party structure and advancing the collective interest of our members and supporters,” ADC Lagos State concluded.
