The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has constituted a high-powered 50-member Policy and Manifesto Committee, comprising eminent Nigerians from diverse fields, to develop a comprehensive, people-centered blueprint for national governance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The committee, approved by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and endorsed by National Chairman, His Excellency Senator David A. B. Mark, GCON, brings together former public office holders, renowned academics, technocrats, policy experts, civil society leaders, and seasoned professionals.
Their collective expertise spans governance, economic management, social development, security, and democratic reforms.
Chaired by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, a former Edo State Governor and ex-National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the committee features Professor Pat Utomi, a distinguished political economist, as Deputy Chairman, and Salihu Lukman, a prominent political activist and former APC National Vice Chairman (Northwest), as Secretary.

The committee is mandated to articulate a clear, coherent, and credible policy direction that captures the aspirations of Nigerians and establishes the ADC as a formidable alternative for responsible leadership and national renewal.
The formal inauguration is scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, at 12:00 noon, at the Conference Hall of the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja.
In a press statement signed by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary, the ADC reiterated its conviction that Nigeria’s multifaceted challenges demand solutions grounded in competence, integrity, and broad national consensus.
The party expressed strong confidence in the committee’s ability to produce a manifesto that genuinely addresses the real needs and priorities of citizens.
The announcement comes amid the ADC’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a credible platform for opposition unity and progressive change in Nigeria’s political landscape. All party members and stakeholders have been invited to note the development.
