Benue Zone A Senate: Groups call on Ugboho to contest 2027
Groups comprising, senior politicians, women leaders and youths from Benue North-East Senatorial District has called on an Abuja based philanthropist, Engr. Jerome Imoter Ugboho to contest 2027 senatorial election, to salvage leadership failure, inherent.
Under the umbrella body known as Benue North-East Progressive Movement, the groups who were in Abuja at the weekend, presented letter of invitation to Ugboho, calling on him to come and fill the leadership gap.
Led by Elder Samuel Gidam, the movement said they are fascinated at Ugboho’s track record of humanitarian services, leadership qualities, accomplishments as well as love for his people.
“We believe that your impressive track record of achievements, your leadership qualities and your passion for our people make you the ideal candidate to represent us in the Senate. We are confident that you will be a strong voice of the district that will work tirelessly to address our needs and concerns.
“As we look to future, we are mindful of the challenges that lie ahead, but we are also hopeful, because we know that together we can achieve greater heights. We have a vision for a brighter future; a future where our people have access to quality education, healthcare and economic opportunities.
“We invite you to join us on this journey; to be our champion and to help us realize our vision. We assure you of our support, our prayers and our commitment to work together to make our district great again” he pointed out.
He bemoaned the grave state of insecurity in the senatorial zone and the blatant neglect by the current national assembly representatives from the zone. “Our present Senator is class conscious. He doesn’t pick calls in this present insecurity situation. We need agile and energetic person to represent us”, he lamented.
Responding, Ugboho thanked the group for having faith in him. He noted that he is taken aback, the level at which development has alluded his people, adding that he is aware of the pains the people of Zone A are going through ranging from insecurity to acute lack of social amenities and lack of empowerment for youth, women and the aged.
He said he is willing to commit to project that will alleviate the pains of the people. Citing prompt response of Senator Ndume to Gwoza attack, the Philanthropist said it is high time, political leaders avail themselves to the people. He revealed that, on his front burner is the issue of insecurity which constitutes the major challenge.
He sympathize with the people of Sankera and Kwande Federal Constituencies for the killing spree orchestrated by the insecurity situation in the zone.
Highlights of the event were emotional speeches presented by woman leader of Action Mothers, Beatrice Nguwasen Orga, Logo LG representative, Jacob N. Saameaya, as well of representative of Ukum LG, Shenge Iorlumun.
