The Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, has nullified the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention held in Ibadan on November 15, 2025.
In its ruling, the court barred Alhaji Aminu Turaki and other individuals who emerged from the convention from parading themselves as national officers of the PDP.
The court further ruled that the Caretaker Committee led by Ambassador Abdulrahman and Senator Samuel Anyanwu remains the only recognised National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP, pending the conduct of a properly convened and valid National Convention in line with the party’s constitution and relevant laws.
This judgment clearly vindicates Senator Samuel Anyanwu, who had consistently warned that the party failed to follow due process before proceeding with the Ibadan convention. The court’s decision confirms that his position was based on respect for the rule of law and the PDP’s constitutional provisions.
