Manchester United delivered a major blow to Arsenal’s Premier League title ambitions with a thrilling 3–2 victory at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, sealed by a sublime late strike from Matheus Cunha.
Arsenal took an early lead in fortuitous fashion when Lisandro Martínez turned the ball into his own net, handing the hosts the advantage. However, United responded with resilience and were level before the break through Bryan Mbeumo, who finished clinically to restore parity.
The visitors carried their momentum into the second half and went ahead courtesy of a spectacular effort from Patrick Dorgu, whose powerful strike left the Arsenal goalkeeper with no chance.
With the clock winding down, Mikel Merino appeared to have rescued a point for the league leaders, slotting home a late equaliser to spark celebrations around the stadium. But United were not done.
Just three minutes from full-time, Matheus Cunha produced a moment of brilliance, unleashing a superb effort to snatch all three points for Erik ten Hag’s side and silence the home crowd.
The result dents Arsenal’s title charge while boosting United’s push for a strong finish to the season.
