Nigeria ‘ s former capital city, Lagos, has again been struck by tragedy as a mother, Bilikisu Adisa, raised the alarm over the sudden suspicious death of her daughter, Adijat Adisa.
The case, wrapped in mystery and sorrow, has drawn significant public attention following Bilikisu’s emotional recount of the events that led to her daughter’s untimely passing.
Twenty-five-year-old Adijat, who had been filled with dreams and ambitions, reportedly lost her life in circumstances that have prompted allegations of ritualistic practices. As the dust continues to settle around the tragic event, many have been left grappling with the harrowing reality faced by families in similar situations across the country.
Bilikisu recalled the first unsettling signs she noticed before the tragic loss. She said that her daughter had been serving in Sango, Ogun State, as part of her mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.
According to her, each time Adijat returned from her visits, Bilikisu observed scars on her daughter’s body that raised deep concern. But the marks, initially dismissed as possibly resulting from accidents or minor injuries, grew more alarming over time.
The mother’s intuition led her to caution her daughter about the company she kept, particularly the man she was in a relationship with.
Despite her warnings, Adijat, like many young adults, tried to balance parental concerns with her personal choices.
In the final days leading up to the tragedy, Bilikisu said she spoke with her daughter, who appeared healthy and in good spirits.

The oral exchanges between then during that call were chilling enough to send her and other family members rushing to his residence at Abule Egba, Lagos.

Upon arrival, they were met with a scene that words could scarcely describe — one that confirmed their worst fears and plunged the family into unimaginable grief.
Upon reaching the house, Bilikisu reportedly fainted at the sight that greeted her, overwhelmed by the gruesome reality that her daughter was lifeless. As family members scrambled to attend to her, the authorities were called to the scene. Officers from Meiran Police Station arrived shortly thereafter to begin preliminary investigations. The police officers noted the presence of charms scattered across the premises, along with a bucket that was filled with blood. These discoveries intensified suspicions surrounding the nature of Adijat’s death, further fueling fears that ritualistic activities might have been involved in her demise.
In the wake of these findings, Bilikisu has made a passionate appeal to the public and authorities alike, seeking justice for her daughter.
She expressed strong fears that the case might be mishandled or forgotten amidst the routine of everyday life in a bustling city like Lagos.
