Trump To Issue Executive Order On Voter Identity
The President of America, Donald Trump, say he is soon to issue an Executive Order on voter Identity.
In his social media post last night, Trump said the order would apply to all categories of voters, except the elderly, the ailing and troops in far away deployment posts.
The move, quite controversially, seeks to establish the identity of every voter.
It follows the constant complaints of Trump that far too many migrants were getting unduly involved in the country’s electoral process.
It comes as the Republican Party, allegedly at the prodding of Trump, began moves to redraw the electoral map of major cities and states controlled by the opposition Democratic Party.
The move is seen as part of efforts by Trump and his party to maintain control of the House of Representatives as the mid term elections loom early next year.
However, the Democrats are pushing back, especially in California where the prototype of the Republican Party’s initiative is being purloined for implementation.
China
China Hosts 20 World Leaders At Shanghai Cooperation Council Summit
Chinese leader,Xi Jinping, is hosting more than 20 World Leaders at a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Council.
The meeting comes as China, a nuclear power and the second single largest economy in the world, is to hold a parade to mark its victory in the Second World War, in 1945.
The summit is attracting the President of Russia, Vladimir Viktor Putin, the Prime Minister of India, Modi, the President of Turkiye, Tayyip Erdogan, and leaders of Iran, Brazil, South Africa and many others.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the leaders of both China and India, held a meeting at which they mutually agreed to take actions to douse the tensions between them over their border disputes.
The visit by Modi is the first by an Indian leader to China in seven years.
Aside from economic cooperation, the summit is seen as a rebuff of American President, Donald Trump, who had unilaterally imposed crippling sanctions on India for trading with under- sanctions Russia.
Trump had also threatened to impose a 50 per cent punitive secondary tariff regime on China as it did to India, but paused action after Beijing threatened stiff retaliatory measures..
Officials of both countries are now locked in a dialogue to reach a common ground in the tariff issue.
Both China, India and North Korea are the major trading partners of Russia which is under strict sanctions by the European Union (EU) and the rest of the West for its invasion of Ukraine.
Trump has issued Russia a two- week deadline, due to expire tomorrow, to reach a peace deal with Ukraine or face strict sanctions.
Yemen
Houthis Vow Revenge For Their Slain PM, Ahmed
The Yemeni rebel group,the Houthis, has vowed to avenge the death of their titular Prime Minister, Ahmed .
Ahmed Al- Rahawi was killed on Thursday in an Israeli strike on an apartment block in the capital Sanaa, along with several other leaders of the group, including the Defence Minister and the Chief of Staff.
Following the attack and the killing of the leaders, a spokesman for the group said it would surely avenge the death of those killed.
The threat to revenge came just a day after the group,on Friday, publicly acknowledged the killing of the leaders.
The group did not set a deadline for its retaliatory action,nor how it intends to do so, but it has, in the past,managed to match its threats with actions.
The group also reiterated its subsisting support of the Palestinian cause, stressing that it would not ease its attacks on Israel until it ends its war on Gaza.
The Houthis have been attacking Israeli and Western targets until America reached a peace deal with it to end their mutual military fire exchanges.
The group , however, has sustained its military attacks on Israeli targets both within and outside the Jewish state, mainly with drones and long range missiles, some of which have breached the Iron Dome Air defence system of Israel, and caused significant damage.

Anti- Government Protests To Continue Today.
Anti- Government Protests are likely to continue today in parts of Indonesia, despite apologies by the House of Representatives and assurances by the government.
Organisers and participants say they are determined to press their protests across the country.
The anti- government demonstrations began a week ago over what critics say is political corruption, but quickly escalated after media leaks showed that the political class was intent on significantly raising their Housing Allowance to ten times the existing minimum.wage.
In Makassar, the regional Pariamrent was torched after a 20- year old despatch cyclist was killed in a run over by a security vehicle for which the police chief offered a public apology and the assurance that justice would be served.
The country has also cancelled its participation at the ongoing summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Council holding in Tiajin , China, in order for the political leaders to effectively resolve the issues around the protests.

Ukrainian politician, Andriy Paludriy has been shot dead in Ukraine.
Details of the circumstances of his shooting and the motivation remained unclear at press time, as were the identity of the shooter and the motivation for the attack.
