Trump, Jinping To Seal Tik Tok Deal By Phone Call Today
The President of America, Donald Trump, is set to seal a deal on the operations of Tik Tok in America with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping
Both leaders are to talk later today by phone to harmonise positions on the fate of the social media platform.
There are no hints as to what they may reach but diplomats say that Trump is most unlikely to restore the ban placed on the Chinese platform by the administration of former President Joe Biden.
The Biden government had banned the group for security reasons, saying it made the personal details of Americans readily available to China
More than 170 million people,more than half of the population the country, use the platform in America.

Nepal Holds Military Parade As Security Improves
Nepal has held a military parade to mark its Constitution Day.
The parade in Kathmandu featured a march past by a detachment of the country ‘s military.
The interim leader of the country and its former Chief Judge, Shushi Kardi, took the salute at the parade which took place a day after 79 persons killed in the recent violent protests in the country were buried.
The Himalayan country had been enmeshed in violent protests at the now withdrawn social media ban by the government .
Nepal plans to hold general parliamentary polls in the next six months.

43 Killed In RSF Strike On Fasher Mosque
At least 43 persons died and many others were wounded today in a drone strike on a mosque by the rebel group, Rapid Support Force, RSF .
The attack targeted Fasher, the last major government- controlled territory in the Darfur Region of Sudan.
The victims were at a morning service when the drone struck their mosque, killing and or wounding them.
The RSF had repeatedly urged residents of the city to evacuate, but many of the civillians in the city say they were afraid of being shot by RSF snipers as they flee
The RSF had laid siege to the city as part of its efforts to seize it and take full control of the entire Darfur Region.
Non- fatal victims of the attack were taken to hospital where doctors said they lacked the medicines and kits to effectively treat them because of the devastating effects of the crippling siege by the rebel group.

UN Workers Protest Killing Of Colleagues By Israel
Workers of the United Nations (UN) have staged a protest at the large scale killing of their colleagues by Israel in Gaza.
They said that Israel was acting with impunity because of its ongoing unconditional support by the United States of America.
Organisers say that 370 of their colleagues have been killed by Israel in its indiscriminate war in Gaza , and that it was time it was stopped and brought to account.
The protest is the first formal.public one by the group , and it came against the backdrop of Israel’ s ongoing military campaign to capture and occupy Gaza City.
UN monitors say that more than 40,000 residents had been displaced over the past two days by Israeli troops attempting to reach the heart of the city, the last major settlement in the enclave by that name not yet under Israeli control..
Aside from its personnel, the UN has also suffered major losses in Gaza following the destruction of its hospitals , schools and other infrastructure by Israel.
The UN special committee on the Gaza war has concluded that Israel had committed genocide on four of the five benchmarks set up by its convention in 1948.
The Hamas- run Ministry of Health in Gaza said that more than 65,000 Palestinians had been killed and more than 120,000 wounded in the war between Hamas and Israel.
The Jewish state has admitted to the loss of about 900 soldiers to the war in which it also said that around 3,000 others had been wounded

Leaders of Canada, Mexico Hold Trade Talks
Leaders of both Canada and Mexico have met in Mexico City over mutual trade.
The move is seen as part of their common efforts to stave off the full impact of the stiff unilateral tariffs imposed on them by American President, Donald Trump.
The Canadian delegation was led by its Prime Minister, Mark Carney, who told his host and Mexican leader, Claudia Sheibaum.that there was an urgent need for both countries to get together in their long term collective interest.
At the summit, both leaders signed a three- year deal to promote bilateral trade.
Donald Trump, President of America, which shares common border with both countries, had threatened to make Mexico the 51st state of his country, and to convert the Gulf of Mexico into the Gulf of America.
Journalists who initially failed to acknowledge the futile name change were barred from the White House, seat of the American Presidency.

Again, America Vetos UN Gaza Ceasefire Vote
Against the grain of growing public opinion and true to its iron-cast policy, America, on Thursday night, vetoed vote on a United Nations (UN)peace plan for embattled Gaza
It was the sixth consecutive time that America, the single largest supporter of Israel, has vetoed the efforts of the United Nations (UN) to agree to a ceasefire on the raging Gaza war.
A UN special committee report on the war had said that Israel was committing genocide.
The development comes a week before the UN is due to hold its annual General Assembly (UNGA) at which some Israeli and American allies, including Britain, France, Canada, New Zealand and Australia, say they would recognize the state of Palestine.
Both Israel and America have separately condemned the move.
More than 140 countries have recognised the state of Palestine.
The move by both France and Britain would make them the only G-7 Group members to take the step.
