A prominent Nigerian cleric, Bishop Isaac Idahosa, has thrown his weight behind Niger state governor, farmer governor, Umaru Bago, expressing confidence in his ability to tackle insecurity in Niger State.
The Arch Bishop designated endorsement comes as Bago’s administration continues to address the recent surge in violent attacks and kidnappings in the north central part of the country.
The farmer governor has taken decisive steps to address the security challenges, declaring a state of emergency in parts of Minna and vowing not to negotiate with bandits.
He has recently also announced plans to recruit 10,000 members into the Joint Task Force to restore security in the state.
Bishop Idahosa commended Governor Bago for employing the right strategies, saying, “on spot accessment is a very good strategy, Just yesterday, the governor was in Borgu area to see things for himself. He is a governor who takes the security of his people very seriously.”
The cleric expressed confidence in Governor Bago’s ability to overcome the security challenges, praising his commitment to ensuring peace and stability in Niger State.
He said governor Bago remains resolute, emphasizing his administration’s determination to protect citizens and restore peace in the state despite current challenges.
