The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State has reaffirmed its total and unwavering support for Turaki Tanimu Kabiru SAN and the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
This position was unanimously adopted during a strategic meeting of party leaders and stakeholders in Abavo this morning, which was presided over by the Chairman of the PDP in the local government, Amaechi Mumeh.
During the meeting, party leaders reviewed the current political developments within the party and across the country and resolved to stand firmly with the leadership direction provided by Turaki Tanimu Kabiru (SAN), and the National Working Committee.
The stakeholders emphasized that their support is rooted in the long-standing commitment of Turaki Tanimu Kabiru (SAN) to the ideals of justice, party discipline, and the unity of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The meeting also noted that the PDP in Ika South remained a disciplined and organized political family that respects the established leadership hierarchy of the party and remained committed to protecting its integrity.
The leaders made it clear that regardless of the outcome of the Appeal Court judgment expected today concerning internal party matters, the loyalty of PDP members in Ika South remained unshaken.
According to the meeting, no circumstance or political development would make the PDP leadership or members in Ika South align with or work for the All Progressives Congress (APC) via expelled members.
The leaders stressed that the PDP remained the most credible political platform capable of delivering purposeful leadership and sustainable development to Nigerians.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the party structure in Ika South and ensuring that the PDP remains united, formidable, and well-positioned for future political engagements.
The meeting also addressed the issue of a few individuals who recently took actions perceived as betrayal of the party’s collective interest.
However, the leadership maintained that the PDP in Ika South holds no grudges against such individuals.
Instead, the stakeholders prayed that those who might have strayed would soon reflect on their actions, embrace reconciliation, and return to the fold of Turaki Tanimu Kabiru SAN in the spirit of unity and party solidarity.
The meeting also reaffirmed its deep respect and loyalty to the distinguished leaders of the PDP in Delta North Senatorial District.
Among those acknowledged for their leadership and contributions to the party are Chief Ejiofor Onyia, Dr. Esther Eduehi, and Prof. Sylvester Monye, who were described as pillars of strength and guardians of the party’s values in Delta North.
The leadership stressed that Ika South PDP is proud to remain part of this respected family of integrity and will continue to follow the guidance and political direction of its leaders within the district.
The meeting called on all PDP faithful across the twelve wards of Ika South to remain calm, united, and focused, emphasizing that internal unity is the foundation for the party’s continued growth and success.
Party members were also encouraged to remain active in grassroots mobilization and political engagement aimed at strengthening the PDP ahead of future electoral contests.
The leadership equally reaffirmed its commitment to defending the ideals of democracy, fairness, and people-oriented governance which the PDP has consistently championed.
At the conclusion of the meeting, stakeholders unanimously pledged their continued loyalty to the party and resolved to work collectively to ensure that the PDP remains strong, united, and victorious in the years ahead.
The leadership reiterated that Ika South PDP will continue to stand firmly with Turaki Tanimu Kabiru (SAN) and the National Working Committee as the party navigates the current political moment.
