The rights and privileges of children remained crucial to the survival of any nation , particularly as children are the leaders of tomorrow which cannot be overlooked.
Hence few months into her ascension as Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman -Ibrahim fsi has kick-started and prioritised the welfare of children and women in all areas .
From the protection of children and women rights to essentially placing them at vantage position in line with domestic and global approach and provision.
In her maiden program of activities to mark this years occasion, she reiterated not only the protection of children and women , but social security, education, health , well-being among many others that will assist both children and women while in existence.
She said the current situation where children and women are socially stratified, denied and treated with disdain cannot continue in view of concerted efforts by government.
While declaring state of emergency on child’s rights through advancement , she said efforts is being geared towards demonstrating the will to ensure a policy framework that will galvanise the program.
Already many pro+ children and women programs are been organized as part of the programs to mark this years children’s day ceremony among many others.
Imaan Suleiman -Ibrahim maintained that advancing the rights of children beyond nomenclature has gotten to the crescendo, as all hands are on deck to ensure its implementation.
She said the choice of this year’s theme , ‘Advancing Rights of Children and Women’ was a deliberate efforts and attempts to aside domestication, globalized the campaign to ensure social security for the targeted audience.
According to her , all hands must be on deck by the stakeholders, international agencies, development partners , UNICEF, UNIDO among many other global bodies who had been partners in progress and development of children’s welfare and women to synergise for more genuine course .
