Former National Security Adviser and erstwhile former Speaker of Parliament, Ali Larijani, has been killed.
Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, ordered the assassination of the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council
He was reportedly killed in overnight strikes by the Israeli military .
Details were not available, but it was understood that Larijani was eliminated along with his son and his deputy who is unnamed.
Larijani was chief negotiator for Iran in the talks between the country and the West, especially America, on its nuclear programme.
His death followed the February 28 massacre of Iran’s political and security leadership , including the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has since been replaced by his son,
Mojtaba.
