As the leadership of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) intensifies efforts to address the lack of potable water within the communities in the Niger Delta region, Agbor Obi community, Ika South Local Government of Delta state, has become the latest beneficiary of the drive.
The Commission recently completed, and handed over for the community use, a 20,000 gallons solar powered water project.
The project, like similar others that dot communities within Ika Federal Constituency, was attracted by Mr. Chiedu Ebie, Chairman, Governing Board of the NDDC.
Elated indigenes described the water project as timely and thoughtful. They said the project will bring about ease of life and improve their standard of living.
While expressing gratitude to NDDC leadership for the prompt delivery of the project, the community dwellers stressed that Ebie’s leadership daily qualifies as exemplary and manifests compassion for his people,
“Water is life, it is one of the most basic and critical needs of mankind. With the completion of this water project, NDDC has touched us here in Agbor in a special way that we will not forget. We are equally most grateful for making it possible for Chiedu Ebie to assume the position of Chairman, Governing Board of the NDDC. Through the position, he has saturated Ika nation in particular and Niger Delta in general with modern infrastructures. God will continue to bless him”, a community leader, Ossai Kenchuku said.
Recently Ekwuoma Community in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta state started wearing a new look following the successful completion of the secondary school road, linking the community to the Benin-Asaba expressway. The road, a strategic internal road that has now opened up Ekwuoma to the rest of the state and parts of the Niger Delta region was built by the NNDC.
Dibie Charles Oriekose, a member of an Agbor, Delta state-based GCON Media Team, who recently visited the community disclosed that the project which was attracted by Mr. Chiedu Ebie, Chairman, Governing Board of NDDC, an illustrious son of Ika nation, has added face lift to, and brought about ease of movement within the community.
Indigenes who interacted with him during the visit expressed delight about the swift completion of the project and commended Mr. Ebie for his sincere commitment to opening up communities in the Niger Delta region with modern infrastructures. They expressed gratitude to the NDDC boss, describing him as purposeful, intentional and steadfast in his contributions to the socio-economic and infrastructural development of the Ika nation.
Said one of the indigenes: “We are proud of Mr. Chiedu Ebie, our illustrious son. We are particularly happy with the way he is equitably distributing social amenities. We have never had it this good before. We are not the only community he has positively impacted. He is purposeful, intentional and steadfast in his efforts to bring economic and infrastructural development to the Ika nation and Niger Delta as a whole. We are immensely grateful to him for what he has done for us.
“His kind and people-oriented leadership have touched all the communities and towns in Ika nation, Delta state and Niger Delta region in general’’.
In the same vein, political analysts believe that the Ika nation in Delta North Senatorial District will indeed forever be grateful to Ebie for the numerous infrastructural projects he has attracted there.
Notedly, Ebie has engraved his name in hearts of Ika people with life-changing projects he has brought to the towns and communities that make up the Ika federal constituency nay Ikaland.
The NDDC Board Chairman has consistently given impetus to his commitment to bettering lives of the people with his unrelenting attraction of NDDC funded critical projects he attracted to Ika Federal Constituency for the benefits of the people, with assurances that the Commission will continue to prioritize the people’s needs.
