The Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor, on Women Mobilization, Ezinne (Mrs) Cecilia Ogbonyeri, has charged women on fruitfulness as the Anglican Church celebrated Mothers’ Day, on Sunday,March 15.
Ogbonyeri, who delivered a sermon titled: Bearing a Lasting Fruit As A Mother at the All Saints’ Anglican Church, Agbor -Nta, Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, said that Mothers were excellently created by God, hence, they should toe the path of excellence in all their endeavours.
Reading from the Bible books of
Jeremiah Chapter 17 verse 2-8, Matthew Chapter 8 verse 18-20 and Philippians Chapter 1 verse 1-11, Ogbonyeri noted that God’s plan for womanhood goes beyond physical nature.
“God has great and excellent plans for women.He wants mothers to bear lasting fruits. Let us bear fruits that will celebrate us as mothers.We were created to be fruitful in all areas, therefore, we should exhibit the goodness of God in us. As mothers, we must be unique in whatever we do, we must be disciplined, prayerful and submissive to our husbands and God, ” Ogbonyeri stated.
Ogbonyeri, who is the All Progressives Congress, APC Woman Leader in Ika South Local Government Area, also charged women to discipline their children, give them good advice and guide them properly as they grow up.
She listed prayer, dedication to the service of God, prudence, humility, hardwork, patience and love as virtues that will make every woman to become a good mother.
She added by urging Mothers to be role models to their children, encourage and support them in areas that they are weak.
She concluded by congratulating Mothers all over the world for being the vessels that God is using to nations and humanity in general.
