The FCT Police Command on Wednesday sealed the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, using barbed wire and patrol trucks—one day after a violent showdown between rival party factions.
All access points were blocked, staff were turned back, and a riot-control vehicle was deployed as officers took over the facility.
The chaos stemmed from competing meetings planned by loyalists of the new National Chairman, Taminu Turaki, and supporters of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. Tension spiked when top figures—including Wike, Turaki, Samuel Anyanwu, and Governors Bala Mohammed and Seyi Makinde—arrived at the secretariat.
Police fired tear gas repeatedly to break up the clashes and restore order.
