President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated former President Goodluck Jonathan on his 68th birthday, joining his family, friends, and associates in celebrating his contributions to Nigeria’s democratic development.
In a message issued on Thursday, President Tinubu praised Dr. Jonathan’s simplicity, humility, and exemplary conduct, particularly his historic concession after the 2015 presidential election, which he said strengthened Nigeria’s democracy and enhanced the nation’s global reputation.
The President also recalled his past engagements with Dr. Jonathan and the support that shaped key political milestones in 2010 and the 2011 presidential election.
President Tinubu noted that the former leader continues to demonstrate statesmanship through his growing international roles, especially in promoting democratic values across Africa.
He prayed for continued health, strength, and peace for Dr. Jonathan, his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan, and their family.
