Tompolo Advocates Media-Tantita Partnership in Sustaining War Against Oil Theft

Chairman and CEO of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has commended the Nigerian media for its critical role in the ongoing fight against oil theft.
Speaking at his country home in Oporoza, Gbaramatu Kingdom, on Friday, during a courtesy visit by the national, zonal, and state leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Tompolo noted that Tantita’s global recognition is largely due to the consistent reportage by the media.
“All over the world, it is because of your work that people are seeing what we’re doing. What we came to commission — the NUJ Warri Secretariat — is small compared to the media’s contribution,” he said.
Tompolo emphasized the need for continued collaboration between the media and security actors, stating that the goal of making Nigeria’s waterways the most secure globally can only be achieved through unity and shared responsibility.
NUJ National President, Comrade Alhassan Yahya, praised Tompolo for his uncommon generosity, particularly his support for the recently concluded NUJ Delegate Conference in Owerri, and for the commissioning of the newly built state-of-the-art Press Centre in Warri.
“This Press Centre is the first of its kind in the country,” Yahya said, describing Tompolo as a philanthropist whose support has lifted the burden on many journalists and advanced the Union’s goals.
He reaffirmed NUJ’s commitment to national unity and pledged continued partnership with Tantita Security Services in its mission to combat oil theft and promote maritime security.
The NUJ delegation included the immediate past president, Chief Chris Isiguzo; Deputy National President, Asiwaju Sola Adebayo; and other national and zonal leaders, including officials from the Delta State Council and the Delta chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ).
