WSJ Reveals Contents of Controversial Letter
U.S. President Donald Trump has found himself at the center of a fresh controversy—this time involving a letter allegedly sent to the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender.
The uproar began after the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) published what it described as a confidential letter written by Trump to Epstein on the latter’s 50th birthday.
The letter, dated 2003, reportedly featured a sketch of a naked woman and included a handwritten note referencing “another day of wonderful secret.” The letter also bore Trump’s signature, according to the WSJ report.
Trump has denied any connection to the letter and, in response, threatened legal action against the highly respected publication, accusing it of libel.
Just hours before the WSJ story was released, Trump was reportedly on a call with media mogul Rupert Murdoch, owner of the Wall Street Journal, and the paper’s editor, Emma Tucker. The details of that conversation, however, remain undisclosed.
The WSJ’s report surfaced at a politically sensitive time, as Trump recently ordered the U.S. Attorney General to declassify documents related to the so-called “Epstein Files,” which detail allegations against Epstein.
Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in a New York prison in 2019 while awaiting trial for multiple sex-related charges.
