Hon. Cosmas Igbenije, Member representing the Ika Ethnic Nationality on the Board of DESOPADEC, has called on the people of Delta North Senatorial District to throw their full weight behind Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s senatorial bid in the 2027 general election. He described the former Governor of Delta State as a leader whose years of selfless service, visionary leadership and commitment to the development of Anioma Nation have earned him the confidence and admiration of the people.
According to Hon. Igbenije, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership through policies and programmes that positively impacted lives across Delta North and the entire state. He noted that the former governor’s achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, youth empowerment, human capital development and good governance remain visible testimonies of his dedication to public service.
He stated that the people of Delta North should continue to appreciate leaders who have demonstrated capacity, experience and a genuine passion for the welfare of the people. He stressed that supporting Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa in the 2027 general election would not only be a vote for experience but also a vote for effective representation, sustainable development and continued progress for the district.
Hon. Igbenije also appealed to all eligible voters across Delta North to prepare ahead of the election by ensuring they obtain and carefully safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards. He emphasized that the PVC is the most important tool through which citizens can exercise their constitutional right to choose credible leaders and shape the future of their communities.
He urged the electorate not to misplace their voter cards but to keep them safe and ready for use on election day. According to him, every eligible voter has a responsibility to participate actively in the democratic process, adding that every single vote will contribute to determining the future direction of Delta North.
The DESOPADEC Board member further encouraged youths, women, traditional institutions, community leaders and other stakeholders to mobilize support for Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa. He expressed confidence that the former governor possesses the experience, political goodwill and legislative competence required to provide quality representation and attract greater dividends of democracy to Delta North at the National Assembly.
