The people of Delta South Senatorial District have been assured of inclusiveness, people -driven policies just as the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) will be partnered in the quest to give the area good representation.
This was disclosed by Jay Ogor Esq, a leading Delta South Senatorial hopeful, Philanthropist, and Business Mogul during a visit to High Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo Press Centre, Secretariat of the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel in Warri with his supporters.
He said that the Delta South Senatorial District seat is vacant because of poor representation.
Ogor, a seasoned legal Practitioner is a younger brother to Rt. Hon. Leonard Okuweh Ogor, former member of the House of Representatives.
According to him, “my coming today is to partner with you because I know the role you play. It’s to tell you that the Delta South District as far as I am concerned, is vacant.
“As an experienced entrepreneur and Legal practitioner I know exactly what my people need, but I will also sit with them regularly to get fresh challenges with a view to resolving them.”
The Philanthropist explained that the Delta South District is grossly divided saying, “one of the major thing that bothers me most about Delta South Senatorial District is unity. We lack it. We cannot develope without unity.”
Barr. Ogor said if voted into office as a Senator representing the people of Delta South Senatorial District, he will consistently meet with the people to get first hand challenges inherent on ground in the district with a view to creating the unity that is lacking.
Ha added, “unity where we come together and understand the challenges working with the NUJ and address some of these challenges. Unity brings prosperity. Unity brings development. Without unity, there can’t be infrastructures. We can’t be going South and going North and going East.
He spoke further, “in my first 30 days or 60 days in office, I will ensure I hold town hall meetings with the Ijaws, Itsekiris, Urhobos and Isokos to understand the unique challenges that we have in Delta South and across the Niger Delta.
“If you look at the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) today, the International Oil Companies(IOC’s) have taken advantage of it and the communities have been totally under-developed. I intend to correct this because I know how to correct this. I know how to go about it as a lawyer working with Journalists.”
Barr. Ogor urged members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to take close look at the characters of aspirants/candidates contesting for Delta South Senatorial District seat.
He noted, “you must take a look at the characters of these persons that are in this race. If a person does not have good character, he cannot represent you.”
