President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration will sustain ongoing economic reforms to ensure greater prosperity, with stronger emphasis on inclusion and citizen empowerment.
Speaking on Monday during a one-day official visit to Yola, Adamawa State, the President expressed satisfaction that his administration’s economic policies were yielding steady results across the country. He noted significant improvements in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and other critical sectors.
According to President Tinubu, the repositioning of the economy through strategic reforms has enabled increased allocations to states, empowering them to undertake impactful developmental projects.
He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for effectively utilising federal allocations to execute people-oriented projects, particularly in road construction and educational development. The President highlighted the construction of an eight-lane road, an underpass to ease mobility and stimulate commerce, and a modern High Court complex as evidence of responsible governance.
He emphasised the importance of continued collaboration between the federal and state governments, describing the existing solidarity as encouraging and crucial for achieving macroeconomic success. The President also urged governors to invest more resources in poverty alleviation and improving the quality of education.
President Tinubu thanked traditional and religious leaders in Adamawa for fostering peace, harmony, and unity, especially amid ongoing economic adjustments and political dynamics.
He also praised the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, describing him as honest, courageous, and committed, expressing confidence that Nigeria would defeat banditry and terrorism under his leadership.
In his remarks, Governor Fintiri thanked the President for visiting the state to commission key projects, including 21 model schools across the 21 local government areas, constructed at a cost of N24.8 billion. He also listed other completed projects, including the expanded Galadima Aminu Road with an overhead bridge and underpass (N15.6 billion), the remodelled State High Court Complex (N5.5 billion), and a newly constructed Government House office complex (N6.3 billion).
Governor Fintiri reaffirmed Adamawa State’s support for the President’s reform agenda.
The event was attended by several governors, ministers, and top government officials, underscoring the significance of the visit.
