Our attention has been drawn to a publication by Sahara Reporters describing H. E. Emeka Ihedioha, CON, as a “mole” seeking to undermine the opposition ahead of the 2027 elections.
This claim is not only false but a recycled script of political propaganda designed to mislead the public, inflame sentiments, and distract from serious national discourse.
Let it be stated clearly and unequivocally:
Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha is a committed democrat, principled statesman, advocate for equity and fairness, and a promoter of the Igbo course. He has consistently supported credible opposition politics in Nigeria. Any attempt to portray him otherwise is both laughable and insulting to the intelligence of Nigerians who are familiar with his track record of integrity, public service, and consistency, and can distinguish genuine political discourse from orchestrated propaganda.
We encourage the public to recognize the recurring pattern behind these allegations. The mastermind of these scripts has repeatedly circulated similar false narratives during past election cycles. We strongly believe these attacks are coordinated by a small group of political actors who, unable to compete with Emeka Ihedioha’s popularity and grassroots support, have resorted to misinformation and character assassination.
It is on record that at several fora, H. E. Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has openly and passionately called on Nigerians, and Ndi Igbo in particular, to register massively with the party as part of a strategic effort to secure the region’s rightful stake in national politics and advance our presidential aspirations through His Excellency Peter Obi under a credible democratic platform. This directly contradicts the false narrative being circulated.
We will not be surprised if they remain relentless in this vicious campaign in the coming months. The public should disregard such publications, and media platforms must act responsibly by verifying claims before giving visibility to such disinformation.
Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha will not be distracted by these antics. He remains focused on contributing to the strengthening of democratic institutions, advancing good governance, and supporting the emergence of a better Nigeria.
