The Councils of Chiefs of Abavo and Agbor Kingdoms have declared their total support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ika South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Mrs. Cordilia Anyangwu.
They described her as “a square peg in a square hole.”
The traditional leaders made the declaration during separate courtesy and thank-you visits by Hon. Anyangwu to the palaces of the Obi of Abavo and the Dein of Agbor, where she also sought their blessings and support ahead of the commencement of the 2027 election campaigns.
Speaking at the Palace of the Dein of Agbor, Chief Wilson Agborbu, the Ekammenin of Agbor Kingdom, who spoke on behalf of the Agbor Council of Chiefs, assured Hon. Anyangwu of overwhelming support.
He urged all communities in Agbor Kingdom to vote massively for the APC candidate. He praised her outstanding track record and encouraged her to pursue her political ambition with confidence.
At the Palace of the Obi of Abavo, Chief Isioma Okonta, the Chukwelke of Abavo kingdom, stated that the people and leaders of Abavo remained united under the guidance of His Majesty and are committed to speaking with one voice as the elections approach.
He emphasized that Abavo politicians “are determined” to deliver massive votes for all APC candidates in 2027.

Addressing His Majesty, Obi Uche Irenuma II, the Obi and Paramount Ruler of Abavo Kingdom, Anyangwu said she came to seek royal blessings before the official commencement of her campaign.
She thanked the monarch for his fatherly counsel and leadership, which she said, had fostered unity among Abavo political leaders.
Hon. Anyangwu assured the monarch and the people that, if elected, she would provide quality representation by promoting people-oriented legislation and advancing good governance for the benefit of Ika South Local Government Area.
In his response, His Majesty offered prayers for her success in the 2027 elections and expressed confidence that the APC made the right choice in presenting Anyangwu as its candidate.
The monarch declared his support for all APC standard bearers and symbolically decorated Hon. Anyangwu with native chalk and presented her with kola nuts, signifying royal endorsement and prayers for victory in her journey to the Delta State House of Assembly.
