AMSCO Nigeria Limited, a corporate organisation operating in Nigeria, has authorized it’s lawyers to sue Zenith Bank PLC to recover a debt of over One Hundred and Eighty-Eight Million Naira (N188,000,000.00), being deposits it fixed with the bank through its staff and agents, Mrs Anwulika Esekody and PFI Capital Limited.
A letter from the company’s lawyers at Seasons Law Firm, Abuja, signed by Adekunle Kosoko, Esq. and entitled “RE: BREACH OF FIDUCIARY DUTY BY MRS ANWULIKA ESEKODY OF ZENITH BANK PLC AND NON-PAYMENT OF OVER ONE-HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-EIGHT MILLION NAIRA DEBT OWED TO AMSCO NIGERIA LIMITED,” confirms the company’s (EMSCO Nigeria Limited’s) resolve to seek legal redress in order to recover it’s over N188million funds from PFI Capital, from Zenith Bank staff – Mrs Anwulika Esekody and from her bank, Zenith Bank PLC.
The letter, which the Gwarimpa Branch of Zenith Bank in Abuja acknowledged receipt of on 21 January 2026, was addressed to the Managing Director of Zenith Bank PLC and formally drew the attention of John Ajibade (Legal Services) and Michael Osilama Otu (Company Secretary/General Counsel).
The letter, which we sighted, reads in part: “We continue to act as Solicitors to AMSCO Nig. Ltd. Our past letter dated July 16, 2025 and your reply thereto, as contained in your letter of August 8, 2025, in respect of the above matter are in focus.
The delay in responding to your letter has been as a result of our advice to our client, to avail you sufficient time to investigate and interrogate your staff – Mrs Anwulika Esekody – on the facts leading to the complaint.
It is regrettable that after over six (6) months of our complaint to your management, you have not taken steps to either send a delegation to our client, who qualifies as a valued customer of your bank of several years, or prevail on your staff to ensure that PFI Capital Limited, where she sits on the Board, as a Director, returns our client’s money to it.
“We note that your only reaction to our client’s complaint of breach of fiduciary duty has been to issue a threat to report our client’s Directors to law enforcement agencies over the issue, and also transferring your said staff out of the Itire branch to a different branch of your bank.
“It may be necessary to inform you that at all times that Mrs Anwulika Esekody visited our client’s offices, she did so as a staff of your bank and with full knowledge of the funds available in the said account as their Zenith Bank Account Officer.
“It is obvious that it was this banker-customer relationship between our client and your bank, in which your said staff represented you, that led to the discussion resulting in our client fixing her funds, howbeit, to the benefit of PFI Capital Limited, on the advice of your staff.
“In the light of your non challant posturing over our client’s plight, we have decided to seek legal redress for our client in our determined bid to recover her funds from PFI Capital, your staff – Mrs Anwulika Esekody and your bank as Principal to the said Mrs Esekody.”
Adekunle Kosoko Esq, in the letter to Zenith Bank PLC, also said: “We have our client’s further instructions to ensure that the facts and circumstances of this transaction be placed in the public space during the pendency of our impending suit and until the matter is resolved, in order to educate the general public and to forestall present and future customers of your bank from the fate that has befallen our client.”
